The Vision: Edgy & Contemporary Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy Wedding at Smoked Garage Brisbane

Inspired by the fierce, complex love story between DC Comics’ Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, this shoot tells the tale of rebellion, freedom, and deep-rooted connection. The aesthetic is contemporary, grungy, mysterious, and edgy, with elevated styling to suit a luxurious, modern celebration.
Colour Palette: Symbolic & Striking
Every hue was chosen with intention to reflect the duality and complexity of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy’s story:
Black & White – Symbolise the stark contrasts of their personalities and the dark, mysterious ambiance of their world
Gold – Portrays opulence and transformation
Red – Signifies passion, rebellion, and bold elegance
Green – Represents vitality, nature, and Ivy’s power
Pink & Blue – Mirrors Harley's iconic colours, evoking playfulness and intrigue
Together, they create an unforgettable visual narrative.

Contemporary Ceremony Styling at The Smoked Garage Brisbane: The Enchanted Darkness of Ivy’s World

Held in the Mehi Room at Smoked Garage Brisbane, the ceremony space immerses guests in Poison Ivy’s botanical lair. French floral wallpaper, stunning giant flowers, and twinkling fairy lights set the tone for a moody, ethereal environment.

A red/pink carpet aisle runner takes centre stage, but with a twist—chairs are turned toward the aisle, not the altar. This runway-style layout breaks tradition and showcases a modern, fashion-forward ceremony that rebels against the ordinary. To heighten the atmosphere, dry ice smoke carpets the floor, creating a forbidden forest vibe that guests walk through as they enter this captivating world.

Modern Wedding Fashion: Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy's Iconic Looks, Reimagined
This wedding shoot is as much about style as it is about storytelling.

Poison Ivy
Red-haired model with vines woven into her loose hair — a nod to her comic-accurate aesthetic
Sophisticated green tailored pantsuit — powerful and polished, representing Ivy’s iconic green skin tone
Green eyeshadow, bold red lips, and ethereal green highlights — enhancing her mystical, nature-bound persona
Second Look: An elegant mini dress featuring a dramatic bow train with 3D floral appliqués
Bouquet: A cascading red floral piece styled as a handbag — where rebellious fashion meets floral artistry
Harley Quinn
Blonde model with signature Harley Quinn ponytails, ends dyed pink and blue
Bold, playful makeup featuring bright pink and blue eyeshadow
White wedding gown with layered blush pink overskirt and a vibrant pink glitter veil — non-traditional and totally Harley
Second Look: A flirty, bubble-hem mini dress — fun, cheeky, and perfect for dancing the night away
Bouquet: Long-stemmed florals in white, red, pink and blue, finished with a statement blue tulle bow

Cocktail Hour at The Smoked Garage Brisbane: Where Edgy & Contemporary Meets Immersive Cuisine

Post-Ceremony, guests are invited to linger in the Mehi Room for a dramatic cocktail experience by Rosa Bubbles Champagne Towers, before making their way into the Kamilaroi Room.
An espresso martini cocktail tower rises atop a sleek black base. Bubbling with dry ice, it’s more than a drink station — it’s a powerful visual metaphor for Harley’s transformation. The bubbling liquid and swirling smoke mimics the chemical vat that birthed her villain origin, bringing her story to life in an extraordinary and beautifully chaotic fashion.

Guests then step into the Kamilaroi Room, where luxurious chaos meets divine taste. A lavish grazing table by Catering By Ana becomes the focal point — where food is sculpted into edible art. From vibrant fruits to rich cheeses and cured meats, every element is styled with intention, tying perfectly into the bold, edgy and contemporary yet luxurious wedding theme.
This contrast of opulent indulgence and wild rebellion mirrors Harley and Ivy themselves — unpredictable, stylish, and completely captivating.
Edgy Reception Styling at The Smoked Garage Brisbane: A Villain’s Lair Reimagined

The Wii Gii Room becomes the heart of the celebration. With its glass ceilings, exposed beams, and industrial grunge vibe, it channels the energy of a high-end villain hideout.
Personalised Wedding Details: Deeply Thematic Touches
Every element of this shoot was intentionally designed to tell Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy’s love story through immersive, artistic detail. The key styling features we curated are listed below.

Zig-Zag Table Formation
This unique and unconventional reception layout embodies Harley Quinn’s unpredictable and chaotic energy while breaking away from tradition.
Tables were styled with:
Luxe Satin Tablecloths for depth and softness
Matte black dinner plates paired with gold-rimmed charger plates and black & gold cutlery to add an elegant contrast
Black linen napkins and crystal glassware to enhance texture and drama
LED taper candles, glass cube vases, and moody floral arrangements to create a refined, sophisticated candlelit ambiance.
These luxurious design elements reflect Poison Ivy’s character – refined, sophisticated, and effortlessly beautiful.
Place Cards
Guest names were graffitied onto playing cards — a creative and rebellious nod to Harley’s roots as the Joker’s sidekick and her iconic “Jester of Chaos” aesthetic. A small touch that speaks volumes, infusing the table-scape with playful defiance.
Wedding Cake Reveal: Reclaiming Her Power

Generously donated for the shoot by Whip Cakes, this wedding cake was a true showstopper — a striking black heart-shaped design with a rich red velvet centre. Contemporary, bold, and unapologetically dramatic.
At first, the cake featured a photograph of Harley’s previous love, the Joker – a symbol of her dark past. In true Harley Quinn fashion, the celebration takes an explosive turn as she sets fire to the cake, burning away the image. This visceral act represents her break from Joker’s toxic influence, reclaiming control over her destiny, and embracing her wild, rebellious nature.

As the flames die down, a new image is revealed beneath: Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, united. This powerful moment signals a fresh beginning for Harley and Ivy as they enter their new chapter of marriage.
This isn’t just dessert – it’s performance art. A symbolic shedding of toxicity, an embrace of healing, and a rewriting of Harley’s story. The red velvet interior adds yet another layer of meaning, representing passion, rebirth, and Harley’s bold heart beneath it all.

Surrounding the cake were giant flowers repurposed from the ceremony, linking the spaces together and creating an immersive floral installation. This symbolises Poison Ivy’s takeover – this time in a nurturing, positive, and beautiful way.
The Grand Exit: Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy Ride Into the Night

A black stretched 1965 V8 Ford Mustang with red leather interiors waits in the laneway — a location that adds to the desired grungy aesthetic. Pink and blue smoke—Harley’s signature colours—billow from the back tyres, infusing the moment with excitement and a sense of danger! A perfect representation of the nature of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy's fast-paced lifestyle. It’s rebellious, stylish, and wildly romantic.
